We are thrilled to officially welcome Bayobab, a subsidiary of MTN Digital Infrastructure and an MTN Group Company, as the 32nd member of the hi-H Program. In partnership with China Mobile International Limited (CMI), Bayobab has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a collaborative platform that drives operational efficiency, strengthens digital infrastructure, and fosters industry-wide transformation.
Bayobab’s participation in the hi-H Program supports its growing international connectivity ambitions and provides a platform to strengthen collaboration with global telecom and digital infrastructure partners. Through the partnership, Bayobab will bring extensive African network infrastructure, regional market expertise and strong relationships across the continent to the hi-H ecosystem, further strengthening the program’s reach into Africa’s fastest-growing digital economy.
Guided by the hi-H initiative's core principles of "openness, connection, and collaboration," this partnership focuses on strengthening cooperation across both traditional and emerging telecom sectors. Together, CMI and Bayobab will engage in strategic exploration to identify opportunities that can enhance connectivity, operational efficiency and digital infrastructure development while supporting seamless and diverse services for customers globally.
Within the broader digital Infrastructure framework established by the MoU, Bayobab and hi-H Program members will actively explore potential areas of collaboration including future-oriented domains such as AI, global network infrastructure, roaming, 5G enablement, and next-generation network connectivity. These areas provide opportunities in knowledge sharing, industry collaboration and future innovation, while enabling both parties to assess and explore potential opportunities for mutual growth and ecosystem development.
